I was walking historical part of my neighborhood at Kanancho, Osaka.

It says, pathway to ruin of the Hirokawa castle. Ancient path, but putting concrete for hikers going to Mt. Katsuragi. For a self Tomason practice, as city finder, http://www.cityofsound.com/blog/2008/08/barangaroo-toma.html
it is getting important to me to find unknown sign posts and keep record with photographs.

It is the entrance steps of Hirokawa temple. I took a photo from the parking lot. The stone wall, stairs and sign poll are very old. The temple gate area is surrounded by pine trees. At the entrance, on the left, there is a belfry with a tile roof.

Another side of the Hirokawa temple garden. I took the photo from a narrow wooden passageway along the edge of the temple facing the garden. On the left there is a temple treasure house/museum, that they keep Kobodaishi historical records and his statues. I went to see inside of the house.
Here is another view of the temple house and garden. They make the little road as a part of imaginative river. They can go up, but I think it is a private property and visiter cannot go up.

Buddha at the temple alter. Even a little private temple, it has a gold decoration around the buddha and looked nice.

There are guardian gods behind the main gods.

They are wild grapevine. It is hard to see, but the purple berries are every where in the forest.

It says, Hirokawa dera (temple) in Japanese on the electric poll. I take photos of signs, so it excites me. (^_~)

This trip report will continue on next blog. Please continue checking my site. Thank you.

Corner zizo on ancient path. I almost lost way by going straight to the forest, but I had to turn right there. Thanks zizo!

The stones is standing at the bottom of forest shrine. There is a chain and sake (rice wine) so it means a god stone. I took the photo 5, 6 times but it got fogged and lined like somebody disturbing. If you can remember, I think there are sprits around. (^_^)

Hirokawa Temple, 4/30/10 end of trip

Hirokawa Temple walk, 4/30/10

Iwafune shrine, which is worshiping and old emperor. It is hidden and I felt very sacred also after seeing ghost on my photos too.

At the end, I arrived Hirokawa castle ruin which is almost near my house, close to the Chikatsu Asuka museum park.

Iwafune shrine gate

I cannot read, but I assume that it is an ancient emperor's name. I was surprised that somebody left a new bottle of sake.

Continue from Hirokawa Temple walk 4/30/10, part 1

I keep walking on from the Hirokawa temple toward mountain range to another ruins.

#1 I only walked 0.9km from Hirokawa temple and now it will take 1.5km to the Mochio ruin castle.

#2 I went up on the hill but I was little disappointed that I could see the newly developed town on top of another hill near by....

#3 Going up the hill, I found a little house riding school. It is really in the hidden mountain area, so I wonder who is practicing there....

#4 This is a pass way towards Mochio castle ruin. Just right by side of somebody’s house, and I wonder how long the path has been there. Probably from 13-14 C, when Samurai or Ninzya was running around the mountain....

#5 Here I took my self portrait in front of an orange farm. The mountain range on the background was very beautiful. Ashamed of myself that I looked tired already. haha.

#6 I tend to include some spirits (ghosts?) when I take pictures. Here I took a lots of spirits in a round circles, when I took the photo in front of the corner zizo. Believe it or not...

#7, 8 This little colony of village is inward into like circle by the mountain hill. It is like a hidden village that it is hard to get out of town.

#9, 10 I took these in front of an old temple. Abandoned. But the view from there was very nice. I took these graves and Buddha, because I think it was monument from old Samurai from 13-14C. I hold the camera tight all right, but it got the burry image, event though I took many pictures. Believe it or not.....
